2016 - On the move..... This year we finally decided to downsize and move from our lovely Barnview home to something a little more manageable. Patricia was insistent that we stayed in Sudden Valley among all her friends with whom she played golf and socialized. We luckily came upon a house that was not on the market but we learned was to be sold by the executors of the family estate. This turned out to be a private negotiation, no realtors involved, that took time and perseverance but had a successful conclusion. Since we intended to make significant updates and modifications to our new home, once again Karma prevailed when good friends rented their adjacent home to us for the intervening period. As of writing, our hope is to be resident in our new home sometime in late January or early February of 2017

12 Par Lane, Sudden Valley Our new home is on a cul de sac and spread over one and a half lots, 3200 square feet on two floors and directly on the first fairway of the Sudden Valley Golf Course. Picture windows extend the entire length of the house on both floors with panoramic views of the front nine holes and a partial view of Lake Whatcom and the marina. There is room for two cars and the MGB in the garage with a separate golf cart garage for Pat. We are currently half way through a five month renovation program, including new granite throughout, new wood floors, all new appliances and all new light fixtures. The master bathroom is being completely torn out and remodeled with walk in shower, new tub and heated floor. To say all this has been a stressful undertaking would be an understatement! We are just hoping the end result is worth it.

Kyle's Graduation In June we went up to Vancouver to attend grandson Kyle's high school graduation ceremonies. It was a big event that lasted all evening with many family members and friends present, held at the impressive Orpheum Theater in downtown Vancouver.
Kyle is attending courses at Capilano University in film making while he busily knocks on doors of the
burgeoning Vancouver movie studios looking to kickstart a movie industry career. We wish him all the best with his chosen calling.

Celebrating US Election Night - in Canada! Patricia and I had a memorable evening at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver attending the American Chamber of Commerce social event: 'Road to the White House' with about three hundred Canadian and US guests. Our consulting company was one of the sponsors of the event. Together with one of my partners, Paul and his wife, Mary, we all had a fun evening with many friends and business colleagues present. There were giant screens providing minute by minute updates on the voting and a great jazz band to keep us swinging, (see also photo below).

Looking forward to 2017 We have had a busy and challenging 2016: selling our home, buying a new one and remodeling it, not to mention keeping the busiiness on track. We sold the Jaguar XK8 convertible and purchased a new Jaguar XF, also a new golf cart to take us around the neighborhood. We hope that we can shortly step back and enjoy the fruits of all these changes going forward.
Our caring thoughts and best New Year wishes to all our relatives and friends especially at this time of year. May you be healthy, happy and have a wonderful 2017 .
With Love and Best Wishes,

Patricia and Bruce
